Recycling Contest Announcement

The 1st MQP Recycling Contest for the 2012 – 2013 school year will be held on Saturday, September 29th from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.
Recyclables can be dropped off at the student entrance between these times. All acceptable beverage containers count toward the total number of items recycled for awarding of prizes. Prizes will be awarded to:
i) the top recycler at each grade level (largest number of items)
ii) some contest participants whose names will be drawn at random.
Therefore, every student who participates has a chance to win a prize.

Recycling Ballot

Please empty and rinse your containers and remove all caps. Also do not crush or flatten containers and please do not remove labels. Please note that all glass bottles should be placed in cardboard boxes to prevent injury.
Domestic beer bottles: Please fold the box flaps into the box so that the tops of the bottles are visible. This has been requested by employees at the beer bottle depot.
When dropping off recycling on the day of the contest, please fill in and submit the bottom part of this sheet. Ensure your child’s name and grade / name of teacher is clearly marked. If your child is not able to participate in the contest on Saturday, recycling can still be dropped off at the school or at the Evergreen depot in your area during the week leading up to the contest. Remember, you must indicate to the Evergreen staff that the recycling is to be credited to the Mary Queen of Peace account. Just bring your receipt from Evergreen to the school office to enter the contest. NOTE: Receipts from Evergreen must be received at the school office by Friday, September 28th if you wish the results to be included in this contest!!!
