The Heather Huxter Story Writing Contest is an annual contest offered to French Immersion students in grades 4-6. The contest is in the memory of a young student who loved to read and write but passed away when she was 10 years old. As an attempt to keep her spirit alive, her family and Canadian Parents for French- Newfoundland and Labrador joined efforts to create this contest. Each year there are between 250 and 400 entries. Each story is read by a panel of judges and they choose four winners. One winner from each grade, 4, 5 and 6 and one winner from the Francophone category. One of the winners this year was Tyler Curnew from Mary Queen of Peace! Congratulations to Tyler!
