Curriculum night will take place on Thursday, September 26th for all parents from students in K-6 beginning with an information session in the gym at 7:00pm. This will be followed by a 15 minute session with your child’s teacher in the individual classrooms. We hope to see you there!
The first school newsletter for the 2013-14 school year will go out on Friday, September 13th. A paper copy will be distributed to all students for this newsletter. Since there is a change over in administration, if you wish to receive electronic copies of newsletters and other important school information, please forward your email address to the principal at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, there is a place on the school website where you can input your email address.
Chartwells will begin cafeteria services on Monday, September 9th. Paper menus were distributed to students in grades 1-6 today and a copy will be placed on the schools website before the end of the day. It can be found under Parents -> Cafeteria Menu.
Student Data forms were distributed to all students on Wednesday, Sept 4th. Please ensure that these forms are returned to the school by Friday, Sept. 6th.
School will reopen for students on Wednesday, September 4. This will be a full day (8:20am.-2:30pm.) for students in grades 1-6. Upon arrival at school, students who were with us in previous years will go to last year’s homerooms. From there, this year’s teachers will pick them up and bring them to their new classrooms.
Students who are new to École Mary Queen of Peace this September should arrive at the school between 9:00 am.-9:30 am. on Wednesday, September 4. Upon arrival, please check in at the main office before proceeding to the Library. After all returning students are moved to this year’s classrooms, the administration will bring the new students to their classroom to meet their teachers. Parents of new students are welcome to stay with the students until they are safely transitioned into the hands of our capable staff.
Kindergarten students will start on Thursday, September 5. For additional details, please see Information for Kindergarten Students 2013-2014 posted on this website. in accordance with the schedule mailed out recently.
Please note the following:
Buses, for eligible students, will begin the regular daily runs for students in grades 1-6 on Wednesday, September 4.
Cafeteria service will commence on Monday, September 9.
The Grade Level Supply Lists for 2013-2014 are posted on the website for the families who opted out of the Dicks Basics back to School Program.
In early June all Kindergarten students were informed, via Canada Post, their schedules for the 2013-2014 school year.
To briefly recap, classes start for all Kindergarten students on Thursday, September 5, 2013.
Students beginning the morning session will attend for 1 and 1/2 hours, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6, 2013. Beginning Monday, September 9, 2013, they will follow the regular Kindergarten schedule, from 8:20 – 11:30 a.m. until, and including, January 31, 2014. Students will switch to the afternoon session on Monday, February 3, 2014 for the remainder of the school year.
Students beginning the afternoon session will attend for 1 and 1/2 hours, from 12:20 – 1:50 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6, 2013. Beginning Monday, September 9, 2013, they will follow the regular Kindergarten schedule from 12:20 – 2:25 p.m. until, and including, January 31, 2014. Students will switch to the morning session on Monday, February 3, 2014 for the remainder of the school year.
Please note that there will not be any bussing available to Kindergarten children on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6. Bussing will begin on Monday, September 9.
Please note that our school is peanut, nut, fish, egg and kiwi-free. We are directly affected in Kindergarten because we have children with life – threatening allergies to these foods. We ask that you are extra vigilant when choosing snacks for school.
